Tasting Notes
This gorgeous magenta wine is generous on both the nose and the palate and thus a pure joy to take in. The bouquet leads with a tart hit of watermelon Jolly Rancher, then opens to a rich potpourri of rose petals, violet, hibiscus, and orange blossom followed by notes of dried apricot, kumquat, orange zest, and a vague hint of chewable vitamin C. Palate is bright and smooth with a dominant note of elegant black cherry and a secondary hint of blackerry. Mouthfeel is silky and lithe with tremendous balance and a very clean finish. Drink now through 2023+.

Background
Our Rosemary’s Block Zinfandel is named for our Aunt Rosemary, who soon after marrying Uncle Mickey graciously welcomed his sister (our mother) into their new home. Appropriately, her namesake vineyard block, which enjoys afternoon shade thanks to an adjacent stand of giant oak trees, is the coolest spot on our property when the intense afternoon sun beams down during the summer months. As such, Rosemary’s Block sees the most pronounced and impactful diurnal temperature shifts of any of our vineyards, resulting in high-definition fruit balanced by an acid backbone that translates into a superbly structured wine.
