2016 Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Tasting Notes

Deep garnet color with ruby rim. Nose opens with rich dark red and purple fruit notes, soft potpourri, and black olives with an herbaceous finish punctuated with notes of savory sage, bay leaf, juniper, and spruce. Palate is rich and deep with black plum, blackberry preserves, and brandied dark cherries. Finishes with hints of vanilla bean and toffee. Drink now through 2034.

This wine was produced from two vineyards blocks on the east side of our property. Our ridgeside Terraces Block at elevation 1300 feet struggles to yield a few tons of sparsely clustered tiny berries with inky intensity. Our Far East Block, in a protected amphitheater, grows robustly and with minimal intervention. Between the two we have a comprehensive expression of Napa Valley hillside Cabernet Sauvignon the Brown way.
