2014 Cabernet Sauvignon

  • Tasting Notes

Enticing deep garnet core with delicate ruby rim. On the nose rose petals, gardenias, and effusive white flowers hover over waxed saddle and freshly foraged mushrooms. Concurrent notes of bramble and earth are followed by herb encrusted game, black plum, blackberry preserves, and traces of pure rosewater from an ancient vessel. Mouthfeel is rich and deep with cascades of succulent ripe fruits, finishing with ethereal aromatics of cigar box and Madagascar vanilla. Subtle oak commingles with vibrant acidity, formidable scaffolding for long-haul ageability. Drink now if you must or 2018 and beyond for optimal enjoyment.

  • Background

Our Cabernet Sauvignon fruit grows in three separate hillside vineyard blocks, in amphitheater and terrace formations on the eastside and on the face of our Big Dam on the westside. The mountainous terrain where our property is situated marshals high elevation and extreme microclimate temperatures to intensify the dark fruit, herbaceousness, and acid characteristics that give this wine its distinct flavor profile, well-rounded tannins, and formidable structure.
